RIGGING AND CURTAIN CONTRACT ESTIMATOR
DULUTH, GA
Meridian Stage Group, is actively seeking to hire a Rigging and Curtain Contract Estimator to provide estimates and quotations to contractors and venues building new theatres, stages, and film production spaces. Meridian Stage Group and its subsidiaries have over 30 years of experience designing, manufacturing and installing stage and event drapery, supplying theatrical fabrics, production supplies and rigging to the theatre, film, and television industry.
This position is responsible for bidding on projects at the national level for theatrical drapery and related products. Work requires substantial knowledge of the materials sold. The Estimator is responsible for seeking out bidding opportunities and completing all aspects of bidding for national projects, and handling accounts from the point of inquiry through contract acceptance. This role is also responsible for dealing with vendors on a routine basis.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
• Interacting extensively with general contractors, customers, and prospects via phone and email
• Understanding practical rigging applications, anticipating installation conflicts, and managing project needs
• Identifying new sales opportunities when talking with prospective customers
• Reading drawings, technical specifications and providing a bill of materials and quotations
• Providing strong technical understanding of all theatre, drape, event, and rigging products
• Diligently logging sales activities and opportunities in a CRM system
• Qualifying leads provided within a CRM system
• Working closely with sales and project management teams.
• Preparing and sending timely estimates and correspondence.
• Developing new business and maintaining existing customer loyalty
• Collaborating in a team centric environment to ensure a successful outcome of multiple projects
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
• Associate’s degree
• Some sales or CAD drafting experience
• A background in theatre, production, or stage rigging
• Technical ability to learn a diverse product line
• A passion for finding and creating solutions to customer challenges
• Ability to multi-task
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
• A positive attitude and a person that is self-motivated, self-directed, and possesses strong organizational skills
• Experience and proficiency using a PC, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Quickbooks
