Velour
A woven, napped fabric used for stage drapery having a rich luster when illuminated by stage lighting. In heavier weights, it can also be used to some degree, for sound absorption. An interesting property of velour is how it appears to change color depending on how you view it. For this reason, it is very important that you have the nap running in the same direction (we recommend down, as it tends to gather less dust). Care should be taken to order enough material because velour is very dye lot sensitive. One dye lot may not match another dye lot of the same color. This applies even to black. Velour is available in a cotton or a synthetic product and is available in a variety of colors and weights. The following is a listing of products that are available.
